Hi Mr. Fish er I mean Allan!

There are a host of companies that will transfer money online for you.
Just do a google (oooh stop it, it hurts me nice!)

"send money online"

There's Western Union, PayPal, iKoboo, Moneygram, Bidpay etc.

I'm surprised that you can't send an international money order as I can send
them to England from Canada but not to France. Yes really.

Your bank should also be able to prepare a draft in GBP Sterling but it
usually cost more.

I have had great success sending cash and registering it. (note large
amounts)

Subject: [VFB] Money Suggestions?

I've got a mini-problem. I need to send a small amount of money to
England. I was going to send an International Money Order (from the
U.S. Postal Service). To my chagrin, I found that although almost
all countries honor them, they are not valid in the United Kingdom.
HUH?

Are they STILL mad at us for leaving the empire?????

The recipient suggested I just send cash in a letter. I don't really
want to do that. The last two times I tried to send cash
internationally, it never arrived at the destination. Once to Canada
and once to Europe. And I hate "donating" money to greedy strangers.

Any suggestions? Even my banker suggested the Int'l Money Order and
was surprised to find it wasn't accepted in the U.K.

TIA.

Allan
