I was demo tying yesterday, at a local boat fair... was what I thought it
would be when they first asked me. It turned out that it was something more
festive than that. They had just finished the new pier and the fueling
system at the same time as they had a 50 year anniversary. It was the first
time I've tied to orchestra music... as well as the first time I've tied to
a dance show (elite dancers)... as well as the first time I've tied to
fireworks. But it was an outdoor tying, by the coast line. I had cold wind
coming from the sea from behind (and no windbreaker). It sure was a "cool"
(in both senses) tying session, but not the best conditions for CDC or
marabou tying... I had to place the tools on the smaller material bags to
make them stay on the table. I also sat with the sun in my face. A daylight
lamp is good for tying... sun in your eyes is not. And the ones who know why
I'm called Redneck Nick can probably guess how my face looks today, since my
skin hasn't really adjusted to the new season. ;o)
