Hi Gang,
In case you haven't noticed, I've been a little LAX on the daily quote
and joke for the day for the JFTD members. Jody and I have been and
continue to be awfully busy of late, getting things ready for our family
reunion - the week of June 18. Gonna be a huge bunch - my 5 kids, 8
grandkids and Jody's 6 sisters and brother and their spouses and their
kids, coming in from Oregon, Cal, W. Va, and Fla. Shuttling her folks
from the Austin-Bergstrom Airport to the lodge - we'll have help from
our kids on this though.
When we all get together at the Lodge in Lakeway, TX, on Lake Travis,
we'll pretty well filling the entire place. Jody and I are making sure
all the reservations at the lodge are OK, checking the arrangements for
sight seeing, Golf T- times, etc.has been a monumental task. And, it's
not complete yet. They all want to go out to our little ranch and see
Calico, my big Longhorn steer - horns 7 feet from tip to tip. None of
these folks have ever seen a longhorn in the flesh! They'll also be
touring some of the larger vinyards and commercial peach orchards west
of Lakeway, going to LBJ's boyhood home in Johnson City, his ranch
outside Johnson City, going one evening to see the bats come out from
under Congress Avenue bridge in Austin, gathering food and all the stuff
that goes with food preparation.
Jody or I are on our computers, emailing family, and talking to them on
the phone each day. This thing started out as just a simple reunion,
but her side of the family wants to see Everything in TEXAS ! And of
course, being TEXAN, we want to make it a TEXAS Style Reunion for them.
Even got galvanized buckets full of Texas stuff for each of them!
So, this is why I haven't done the daily quote and joke and probably
won't be able to get back on track until the 25th of the month. If
somebody would like to volunteer to handle these, please let me know.
I'll be glad to send you my Word Doc for my fishing quote file. Will
also send email list for the JFTD if someone wants to handle.
