Hi Bill, I have a Lamson Litespeed that I picked up on closeout for $135 when Lamson changed over models to the new Hard Alox series. I love the reel. The drag system is the same for the Velocity. These two reels have both rec'd a lot of positive comments by experienced fly fishers. As always with premium reels the spare spools are expensive (around $140 street price, though occasionally available for less than $100 on eBay.
Don't know of any current blowout sales, though both these reels are commonly available on eBay.
