If brass is what your looking for it can be found at a hobby shop. The have very
small brass tubing and all you need is a tubing cutter to make what evey size
you need.they also carry a large supply of plastic and nylon materials.most are
used for push rods for planes and boats. the price for this kind of thing is
pretty cheap none the less.

I dug out my tube fly materials and the bic pen refills are too large. The
liners I'm looking for are a smaller diameter. I'm having difficulty locating
them in that small size made out of the same material.

  Thanks,

  Deb

  Wes

Have you found a place to buy your liners in bulk? I can find them in fly
shops that sell the ½" style of bullet tubes but they're pretty pricey for a
couple feet of plastic tube. I don't really like Q tips I prefer bic pen
refills but I'm afraid I can't keep up with my demand. I'm trying to find the
kind of tubing they use with Yuri's tubes and Mikael Frodins. I've been able
to find the silicone tubing and the vinyl tubing pretty easily but I haven't
found the liners yet other than in a bic pen which isn't very practical if you
tie a lot of tube flies. I figure you're pretty good at finding that stuff out
so I thought I would send this inquiry to you.

Anyone out there work for a pen company???? LOL

  Regards,

  Deb

  Wes,

I've tied a few tube flies and really enjoy it, It's definatly different. I
have not fished with them yet.

My interest, however, comes from a new bait idea in bass fishing. I havn't
fly fished much due to school and work, as well as working on a new bait idea
in the C and W world of bass fishing, which has me truely captivated. I'm in
the local tournements and have hooked up with the new state record fish but
lost it... I also am on the Pro-Staff of a few companies.

The bait idea requires a metal tube, I will definatly be making a trip to my
hobby shop. Thanks!!
