The idea of adding a wet hackle to a dry fly came up for me when Glenn told us, that the original EHC did use a soft hacle as body hackle. Therefore the construction of the EHC seems to be, that the hair gives floatability to the fly and the soft hackle's duty is to simulate the legs and their motion. Maybe I should add one turn of soft hacle to my hopper and beetle patterns??? Wally, did you have already any feedback from the fish concerning your pattern?
