Been there and done that several times, at the FF@ NEC(Northeast Clave).
It gets real interesting around midnight, after several bottles of scotch,
rum, vodka and beer have been consumed with as many as a dozen people sitting
around a couple of picnic tables tying by the light of several Coleman
lanterns. One of the best nights was when several mayflies from hell,
attracted by
the lantern light landed on the table. Now the mayfly from hell has some
fancy Latin name, but it's a white mayfly that's about a size 32. They had
been
hatching earlier in the night in such numbers that it looked like a fine snow
rising from the creek, and the trout were ignoring the Green Drakes, and
zeroing in on them. The smallest hook anyone had were some of the TMC 30 and
32's. If I hadn't been trying to tie one it would have been hilarious watching
the others tie.

Last night I got drunk chatting together with the nutcases at the Swedish
fly-fishing forum. 2:15 fly number 1 was wrapped together. It was when I was
out of beer and the only thing remaining was Teresa's bottle of Green Apple

They challanged me and cocky as I was I accepted. 3:15 I left them and
started with fly number 2... a #32. I was going for a Green Apple Starling
Matuka
at first (that's how bad it was), but the Apple took away too much of the
hook shank. I had to settle with a Green Apple Little Starling
