Chuck, that is fantastic advice, I heard it a while ago from Tony Spezio
when I was starting to test my hand on tiny flies.

I start with a 14 to perfect what I want, then start working down. If I
start making a lot of mistakes on 18's, or even 16's, I step back to 14's
to get it right again.

One more tip, use a "bare" hook and tie in the hackle you think is right
and make a couple of wraps to see if it is so. If not, you can make
adjustments accordingly until it "looks right. Don "O" gave me that one a
"very" long time ago,

Actually, I think he told it to me when we were "Crewing" for Noah on the
Ark......

Folks: If I'm not the only one having trouble with the tiny flies, Mr Fish
gave Me a great tip.. If I am trying to tie a size 18, then start by tying
a cpl in a size 14.. Then tie a cpl in a size 16, then go to 18. Kinda like
easing into that ice cold stream LOL... Plus, it will give Me the 14's and
16's to fish with next Spring, Chuck
