Looks like these list were made up by a Committee ;-) They've taken
the simple process of running a fly swap and turned it into major
production. It's not hard at all. I've meistered some 15 swaps and the
instructions I give are very simple and my swaps are fun. I give the
type of fly, (theme) of the swap and invite people to join, giving the
max number of participants. .RULES: (1.) Tie X number of flies and use
toe tags. (2) Have them to me by deadline (date).(3) Include return
envelope SASE, or include enough postage $ to cover. (4) My name and
mailing address. (5) Once the swap is filled, I move all correspondence
off List and give timely updates showing the complete list of tyers and
who has sent their flies. I have my own way of sorting flies, etc.

This is not my original writing but I borrowed/stole it from a
Canadian/English Fly Forum. I don't remember which one (old age) but I
am trying to give credit to them as this is a fantastic list to follow.
