I have just upgraded to kernel 2.4.3 and mjpegtools-1.4pre3 although the
problem is identical on mjpegtools-1.3b4.

The problem is that if I use lavrec with the "-q" quality option set to
above 95% (at full res), I get this "Audio ring buffer overflow" error.
It is quite reproducable and seems to occur in a particular part of my
video (2nd file, about 10 mins in).

I don't understand the relationship between the "-q" flag and audio. I
thought this was to do with the quality of the mjpeg capture. Does it
come down to some kind of hardware bottleneck? Has anyone seen this before?

I've been looking at the audiolib code, and there appears to be a
N_SHM_BUFS parameter. Will increasing this help?
