hi there!

having video4linux, as contained in the kernel, up and running i wonder
why i should replace it with video4linux2.
what are the main advantages?
is it faster? easier to program? better documented? supports more devices?
does it support USB cameras? (is seems to support Creative Webcams)
does it support firewire cameras?
my main intention is to write a program that uses the API.

please give me some criteria for my decision.

thanks!
michael
