Thanks very much for the info. I mentioned have a "/dev" driver as a
requirement, but really I just meant that it "runs" on Linux, with some sort of
open source available to make it work. I have no problem with using any API to
use the hardware, assuming I guess a somewhat reasonable API. Even an
unreasonable with source code would be ok.
Thanks again. Pointers to other hardware are still welcome of course.
