Point conceeded. However, I still hold that defaulting to a compiler
that fails to compile a fairly significant amount of existing code may
not have been the best move on RedHat's part. I mean, I couldn't get a
vanilla 2.4.0 kernel to compile with gcc-2.96 (20000731)... why would
one include a compiler that can't compile the kernel for the OS it is
to run on (unless you are MS)? But, I digress.
I think the original intent of this thread had something to do with
avifile... ;-)
