when using xawtv imedeatelly before looking a the w3cam-cpia served image it works...

Ok i admit w3cam 3.6.6 says that it supports only 2.2.x kernels - but i doupht thats
the reason
Good thing it works at all with 2.4.3 - and the bttv based installation prooves it can
serve an adjusted image

I did see the effect recently discussed here on the list that with smaller resolutions
from the
composite source randomly the upper or lower (odd or even) halfimage is served

anybody wants to look at the installations:
http://conta.tij.uabc.mx/applet uses a Creative WB2 CPIA cam
http://cont2.tij.uabc.mx/applet uses a Bt878 framegraber with a inexpensive Cmos
composite cam

The brightness contrast etc adjustment is probably something easy to add to w3cam or
run additionaly on the side ?

maybe not many use the cpia w3cam combination ?

Thanks in advance!

cheers

Tobias
