Hello Kirk,
Try using the bttv driver from http://bytesex.org/bttv/ instead of using
the version included with the kernel.
So you should disable the bttv specific drivers in the kernel while
still keeping the general v4l part enabled. Make sure you have i2c
enabled too.
Then you only have to compile and install the drivers from the url
mentioned above and load them.
