You can do that once you know the tuner type. There are two places
where a init / register dump function must be hooked in: tuner_attach
(in case the type was specified via insmod option) or in tuner_command
(case TUNER_SET_TYPE) in case bttv configures the tuner module.
And the register dump is best wrapped into if (debug) { ... }
