The documentation says its for Quickcams, but it should also work with other v4l devices. I use it with my kensington camera. It can save to jpeg ppm and png. There are also some command line image grabbers out there; you can find them at www.linux-usb.org These would be useful for remote surveillance or a webcam on a webserver.
