No idea, I'm afraid. On this SiS the video goes to monitor always and to tv as well if plugged in at boot. If I run X11 the X11 output goes to both, but it requires that the X11 mode line is correct for NTSC or PAL timings and also seems to have some dependancies on the tv output chip (which is documented but I dont claim to understand).
