Original Message--- No, however it is well-supported by the Linux IEEE 1394 subsystem, which is not written to implement V4L or V4L2. It's still a reasonably easy-to-use API, though.
see http://linux1394.sourceforge.net/ for the base firewire stuff, http://sourceforge.net/projects/libdc1394/ for the camera control library. This is probably the most interesting thing, if you want to write programs that grab & control the camera. http://sourceforge.net/projects/coriander for a program to control and stream video from firewire digital cameras. This is a prepackaged app that is nice to verify that your camera is actually working. enjoy! Clay --------------- Thank you. I will definitely look into this. I am having email troubles at present. I can send email messages to the list but I can not receive any in return? This is all strange to me as this is a nuisance! I had to look into the archives to find that my messages were getting through. Thank you Clay! I will update on my progress. -- Altoine B Maximum Time Unlimited Chicago Based and Operated Genius is the talent of a person who is dead.
