[V4L] linux video driver and codec interface

Hi        I want to send the image taken through my ibmcam to a h.263 codec. currently im using xawtv to view the image. I want to send this image to h.263 codec. How is it possible to send the image to encoder. I dont have h.263 codec also. Is it possible to get an application which captures as well send the image to encoder.  Please help me   regards anand
