[V4L] Leadtek Winfast TV2000/XP and xawtv (motv) problems -- no audio fronm line-in

i installed xawtv latest stable version on Redhat 7.3.  it loaded up fine -- used MOTV for GUI.  I set it for s-video and NTSC and went into the preferences to configure a sound source.  the picture was great, but i couldn't get sound for the life of me.  In preferences it allowed me to choose one selection of mixer source and below that as an option you could choose mic/line-in/etc/etc for sound input.  i tried both line-in and line-in1 and i could not get any sound.  i tried both apply and save and restarting.  every time i restarted the settings would be lost (mixer and line source).  Because of my soundcard line-in from tv tuner to soundcard is the only way i can hear anything.  I have heard of people being able to use this card with linux.  i'm at a loss as to what to do to fix it and get it working.  and help greatly appreciated.  the audio card i am using is a creative labs ensoniq chipset pci.  the tv tuner card works great under xp.   thank you
