Hey folks, Well, I've got my Pinnacle PCTV to actually do something a little different now:
If I coldboot straight into Linux, insmod tuner.o with type=33 (it won't autodetect it, it thinks it's a (tuner type 16), then modprobe bttv, as long as I don't do *anything* with any tda988x drivers, I can get the following: In xawtv if before I touch anything else, I set the video type to NTSC, and the tuning "mode" to us-cable, I can actually use the up and down keys to change channels. The video of the channels comes in exactly right! Unfortunately, there is no sound. However, if I use the "fine-tune" in xawtv, and go up to (9) or (10), the video fuzzes out, but I get audio *perfectly*. Apparently, I need set something to make it pull audio from some offset, but I'm not sure where to start. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Anyone have any pointers? =) Well, in the mean time, I'm going to be playing a little bit with talking to the tda9885 to see if I can send it *anything* without it subsequently blocking all access to the tuner... hmmm... -- Wesley J.
