Hi!
I have another episode in the saa7134 sound odyssee:
Some days ago after sound had been working just fine (apart from the
soft high pitch background sound), without any software/hardware
changes now I experience the following:
Sound is just a very loud continous high pitch beep whose frequency
depends on the tuned channel. No real sound audible.
In the logs what I find suspicious is:
When it worked:
Sep 18 10:13:28 bird kernel: tuner: tv freq set to 175.25

!!!!!!!!!!!
That is: When it worked, the driver found a PAL-B/G FM-stereo signal
at 5.5 MHz. Now it means, it found a PAL-I NICAM signal at 6 MHz.
I don't really believe that the same station switched its signal type!
And that difference is systematic in every channel!
I even tried forcing FM-stereo by adding an audio mode to
saa7134-tvaudio.c for the 6 MHz carrier and I tried to force the
carrier to 5.5 MHz. Both methods did not bring back the sound.
I suspect the card is not fully initialized by the driver and some
random initialization upon startup decides upon working or non-working
sound. It's strange that the working-non-working-cycle is in the range
of several days/weeks...
By the way FM radio isn't working anymore, since that problem came
up...
Any suggestions?
Thanks for any comments!
