Hi Philip,

there is no easy solution to your problem,
it could be hardware bug or a bug in xawtv,
so try:

1) Does it work with vendors driver in Windows?
2) Does fine-tuning in xawtv help ?
3) Debug tuner.c:
  For the tuner=3 there is special code in tuner.c:
   case TUNER_PHILIPS_SECAM
  which should follow your tv standard selection in xawtv.
  Add printks to see if it triggers.
