  Just because X loads the extensions does not mean that the driver
provides XVideo surfaces.  That just means that the 'xvinfo' application
has someone to talk to. :/

  It may be that you need a CVS version of XFree86 (even _newer_) but
that's just speculation.  I'm actually not really sure what Alan meant.

  Alan: did you mean the kernel modules (like is some DRI support
required for Xv with sis?)?
