I'm having trouble getting the radio tuner on my FlyVideo 3000 card working. (I
haven't even tried the TV part yet
... another day ...) Here's what I've done:
- Installed Red Hat 8.0
- Grabbed the 2.4.19 kernel source
- Grabbed v4l2-api-2.4.19.diff from www.bytesex.org
- Patched the kernel source
- Built and booted a kernel based on that
- Grabbed saa7134-0.1.11.tar.gz from www.bytesex.org
- Expanded it, and did a "make" and "make install"
- Loaded up the necessary modules (hopefully correctly ...), like this:
# insmod videodev

Well, it all looks pretty much OK to my completely
untrained eye. Let's try scanning for stations anyway
(I've got an antenna hooked up, and I'm 6km from the centre
of Australia's second largest city - this really ought to
work ...):

OK, maybe I'll try "fm" (from "fmtools", v 0.99.1):

... and I get the same result regardless of what frequency
I try. (Don't like the look of that one.)
Hmmm ... what's going on here? I *thought* I did
everything right ...
