No.  That doesn't make sense.  The differences between bt8x8 and
cx2388x are too big, IMHO it isn't useful put that into one, single
driver.  For example the cx2388x has separate DMA channels (and
separate risc programs) for everything (video, vbi, ...), that allows
a different, nicer and probably more robust design of the buffer
handling.  It also can modify (some) registers from risc code, which
is useful too.
