My machine is set up to autoload bttv&co if char-major-81 is accessed.
If I start and quit xawtv, then running alevt-date works.
Running alevt-date, without running xawtv first, fails.
Using v4lctl first to set channel, input, norm, etc does not help
(audio output indicates that the correct channel is being accessed).
Am I doing something obviously wrong?
If not, what is xawtv doing that makes alevt-date work?
Can whatever it is be made an option to v4lctl please?
I am using debianised xawtv-3.07 and alevt-1.5.1 with a 2.2.14 kernel
and bttv-0.7.27 with i2c patch.
