Hmm... if you don't see _any_ other chips that might be audio chips, I
think there's a feature of the BT878 chipset that allows digital audio
to be sent "over the PCI bus" directly, relying on the software to send
it to the sound card. I don't think Linux supports this currently...
However, you said you "checked the cables" so if you have an audio out
connector, then this probably isn't the case.
