Hi friends !
Can somebody help to first time user of TV card?
My problem is to start xawtv.
Description:
PC: PIII Celoron 566, 128MB ram on Gigabyte BXDS mainboard (APIC)
TV card: Pinnacle Studio PCTV <chip Conexant BT878A, tuner TEMIC 4006
FH5>
(card=52 tuner=14)
OS: RedHat 7.0, kernel 2.4.0-test12 + patch
bttv-0.7.51-2.4.0-test12.diff.gz
What has been done:
- kernel patched with bttv-0.7.51-2.4.0-test12.diff.gz
- recompiled new kernel with these options:
CONFIG_I2C=m
CONFIG_I2C_ALGOBIT=m
CONFIG_VIDEO_DEV=m
CONFIG_VIDEO_PROC_FS=y
CONFIG_VIDEO_BT848=m
- new kernel booted
- modules loaded like this:
insmod i2c-core
insmod i2c-algo-bit
insmod videodev
insmod tuner debug=1 type=14
insmod bttv card=52 bttv_verbose=2 bttv_debug=1 irq_debug=1
bttv_gpio=1 tuner=14
- tarball xawtv_3.26.tar.gz converted to rpm package and installed
- config file xawtvrc ssuccessffully (stupid english transcription)
prepared using command
scantv >/etc/X11/xawtvrc and also copied to ~/.xawt ( super !!! about
40 TV stations found)
- starting xawtv -v 2 with this result:
This is xawtv-3.26, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.0-test12)
visual: id=0x24 class=4 (TrueColor), depth=24
visual: id=0x25 class=4 (TrueColor), depth=24
visual: id=0x26 class=5 (DirectColor), depth=24
visual: id=0x27 class=5 (DirectColor), depth=24
check if the X-Server is local ... **** ok
x11 socket: me=localhost, server=localhost
Xv: 0 adaptors available.
Xv: video disabled
Xv: no usable hw scaler port found
x11: color depth: 24 bits, 3 bytes - pixmap: 4 bytes
x11: color masks: red=0x00ff0000 green=0x0000ff00 blue=0x000000ff
x11: server byte order: little endian
x11: client byte order: little endian
The app-defaults file is not correctly installed.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Your fault (core dumped)
What does it mean - in manual there is written it should start without
any config file !!! (Core is not dumped - it's just a joke.)
I tried to start xawtv with nearly all combinations of options,
but the result is still the same.
Any advice/explanation appreciated. Thanke you.
Noro
