I've started a list of V4L tips to help people try and get V4L up and
running. It's not complete, and somewhat raw, but it does contain some
good tips.

I've also written a C++ API (still in its nascent stages, but there are
groups at Carnegie-Mellon and Lehigh that have been using it for a while)
for V4L capture and image display (it's called SPU-Toolbox). You can find
