[Xawtv 3.43 /bttv 0.7.60/ BT878 ] works fine for me here at sao paulo/brazil.
I record Jo Soares every night, full color ( with excelent app. vcr)
I think old xawtv (3.24) did not suport pal-m.
In my .xawtv I have, among other things:
[defaults]
norm = PAL-M
Send me email if u want my config files.
Another issue is how u call the tuner module. Here what I use in my
/etc/modules.conf:
alias char-major-81 bttv
options bttv radio=1 tuner=17 verbose
