Hi:

I'm relatively new to this V4L stuff and it sometimes takes me awhile to
get my head around new things. So, here's how I understand a few points,
and a question I have:

1. the SAA7134 driver is a V4L2 driver, yes?

2. The V4L2 code only works with 2.4.x kernels, yes?

3. This means I have to upgrade from 2.2.20 to 2.4.x in order to use my
flyvideo 3000. hmmmmm. Going to be fun.

And now to my question. I am currently using ALSA 0.9.2 to drive my
soundcard (it works considerably better than the OSS version of the same
driver). But the SAA7134 sound stuff is an OSS driver. Am I going to
experience any difficulties with trying to make the two systems co-exist?
Are there any tricks to doing this? And, given that ALSA is now in the
2.5.x kernels, are there any plans to ALSA-ise the SAA7134 driver?

Geoff.
