Over time I have learnt to laugh rather than be upset at the
geographical inequality that touches our lives. On the onehand NYC,
USA, London etc -centric phenomenon are silly, on the otherhand they
are real and happen for a reason.

In the UK, its no different. Theres a disproportionate number of young
people, various other demographic groups, media people. So certain
events are naturally born and or drawn towards these centers of
crazy-progress. It isnt fair to some people, and it can be broken, but
its pervasive power and the numbers usually win the argument.

Looking puirely at the number and location of vloggers, I think it
will take much time before New York is dethroned.

Save the oil, thats what I say. I can appreciate the joys & advantages
of people meeting in the flesh, but it still makes me laugh
considering what videoblogging is supposed to represent. The veryidea
that you need to meet physically on an arbitrary date in order to lead
the movement forwards and defend against future nightmares, is this
not a contradiction - should not all these things be possible via the
very video and internet that its all about?

Anyway its easy for me to think like that and make noises about saving
oil because Im currently too chicken to fly to the US of A anyway so I
wont be attending, and anyway you might throw cabbages at me for
having a 1234404:1 text:video ratio.
