for a little over a year. There were like 5 or 10 videobloggers back
then when we started it. Now there are between 500 and 1000. (Mefeedia
lists 712 today). In a year? 500,000 vloggers!
Remember this:
1) There is a huge demand for short videos. Sites like AOL video list
a bunch of crappy "funny" videos found on the web, because they don't
know where else to find the good stuff. (It's here, being made by us!)
The traditional media companies' archives are filled with 40 minute
shows made for TV, not short form video made for the web. Lotta
demand. Not much to fill it.
2) In the fall, when Apple opens up the market with their new rumored
video device, demand will skyrocket. So will press attention.
3) The video you post on your blog *today* will have more and more
viewers. It's archived (it doesn't go away).
So make those videos. Make 'em good. Make a lot. You'll have lots of
viewers.
And slowly, the world will change a little bit. Soon, your favourite
television show will be someone you know.
