well said Frank.

maximising audience is confusing quotidian media with mass media. in
the former you make minor specialised works (the long tail), if yoiu
make stuff that only 6 people get, but they're a very good 6 people,
great. in the latter since you spent (let's say) $100,000 a minute to
get it to screen you have to maximise audience to get revenue.

more does not equal better. Specialisation means small readerships.
This is not a bad thing. It is precisely what enables blogging and
videoblogging.
