This confusion is caused because the server is in the UK. From October
to March, UK time is the same as GMT. From March-October British
Summer Time takes effect, and BST = GMT+1
Generally I see it as one of these awful subjects that ends up
sounding much more complicated than it really is. Maybe the easiest
way round this stuff is just to have a live countdown in hours to when
the meeting starts.

work, the right system to use is UTC, which doesn't ever observe
daylight savings. That is a purely local phenomemon as some areas
(such as Arizona) wisely ignore it.
