This is indeed a fascinating concept.  I suspect it would work better for music than for video.  Music has fewer dimensions: speed, rhythm, etc.  Video has a greater number of dimensions like color, photographic dimensions, etc.   Has anyone studied people's tastes in movies and synthesized them in the same way to predict individual likes and dislikes?
