Another note about QT Pro... Much of the functionality of QT Pro is available with plain QT Player -- its just that the functionality is not easily accessible from the QT Player interface unless you upgrade to QT Pro (which I still believe is very much worth it).
There are other 3rd party tools (like Textation mentioned by Adrian) that can access some of the funtionality of QT Pro. There are also some command line tools that do the same.
