What you create with Garageband is yours to use. Mine has a record funciton which generates an aiff file which I then can rip to mp3 or just use as is for my bed. It's that RED button to the left of the play controls. I just created a 4 bar rif that I loop in iTunes with the one track repeat mode and Crossfade Playback set on zero.
