If the video are intended for professional use, i.e. broadcast
television, commericials and similar media then I think a pro-sumer
camera would be a better choice. You can get a very good camera that
is lightweight and has good
performance. 

If the videos are going to be only viewed on the web then a good,
non-threating DV camera/camcorder will do the job.  I prefer the
smaller camcorders. I don't like announcing "the camcorder is here!" I
like being part of the crowd, not a focal point of it.

What kind of camcorders do you have or intend to buy?

As to Quicktime - it depends on your compression settings. For the
most part it generally looks good to me, I can't tell if it is a Mac
or Windows video. How are you exporting it?
