Hey everyone, I'm new to this whole VBlog'n thing, so don't mock my
lame comments yet. However, I was wondering a few things to
startup. I just bought a Sony DVR-DVD92 model with an extended
battery.

1 - What would be my first upgrade to the camara, that works with
the model. Some people are telling me that a microphone first, and
hook up some cheap headphones to the camera. I don't see any hook-
ups for the headphones on the camera, and the manual doesn't seem to
lead to any outlets either.

After shooting some footage for a vacation that I went on, it looks
like a powered light may be a better option than a mic. Can you
have both, there only seems to be one connention that would hold
it. I'll be searching through the accessories later to see what my
options are.

2 - The DVD has all my files converted into VOB. Is there a program
that most people use that allows you to convert it to AVI or
Quicktime compressions. Which compression is the best to convert
into?

My goal is to edit some of the vacation footage for personal viewing
with the family, and then to also put some of the clips up on a
Vblog. I would like to document my trip through Europe, and any
others that I will be comming into. Is there a resolution that most
people use as standard TV viewing and Blogg'n. I know that the
bigger the resolution, the bigger the files. I was just wondering
if there was a standard that most people use.

3 - I am going to be using my friend's Adobe Premier 6.5, and Affter
Effects 5.5 I also have access to Serious Magic Visual
Communicator. I'm totally new to all this stuff, and have no idea
what I'm doing. Is there a 'basic' program that I can start in
other than the Windows Media Movie program, or should I start
there? Should I just jump into Adobe's program, and grudge through
all the feature so that I could start to learn the program?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a complete Newb with a
new toy who wants to start making Vblogs and experimenting all over
the place. NO information is too basic for me, as I am just
starting. Even any tips on shooting the film would be great also.
Thanks for everyone's help.

Owen
