I've been using my still camera lately for videoblogging, and while
its ok. the sound is pretty terrible, which is the major drawback in
my mind.

I use a powershot s70, which I think is supposed to be an upscale
model of the camera you are using.  If I had a real videocamera, I
wouldn't use it.

Just one opinion, however, and I may be wildly off base that these
offer similar quality.

Good luck!  I'm also interested in seeing people's opinions on cheap
cameras, as I'm giving them out with a similar program...I wonder if
these digital8 cameras wouldn't be better?  Those must be cheap as
dirt these days....
