Unfortunately a lot of USB webcams do not work out of the box with a Mac. Check 
out

they make a webcam driver for $20 US that will work with a lot of Windows 
webcams. They 
have a list on thier site of which cameras it does and does not work with. 
There are 
webcams that work on both platforms. check macmall.com and search for webcam
