hey gang, I am in no way saying that what Pete should stop posting, but if he feels like he is posting things that don't matter then he shoud try to eliminate those things. what is "list worthy" is purely up to the person writing the post...of course in my personal opinion e-mails that say things only things such as "cool" "that stinks" should be eliminated...

I am just saying that since every email is sent to a lot of people's inboxes, that we should ask ourselves "does this really serve the thread? does this contribute to the conversation? etc...if you can look back on your emails and say "man i sure do write a lot of shit to the list" then maybe you can also hold yourself back from posting that "shit" but if you look at your writing and say "yeah that is what i meant, that is good, that is helpful, then go for it and keep posting your heart out"

personal decisions, no judgement calls on Pete's or anyone elses posts...

Well thats an entirely understandable human reaction to people saying
that sort of thing. I do not support people making proclamations of
either what is worthy of talking about, or frequency of posts, and
this isnt just because I happen to talk a lot.

I mean clearly there is a limit, if I posted 50 messages every day
about everything and rambled loads more than I already do, of if I
went unhinged and had a long manic episode then someone would need to
step in and ask me to chill. But nobody has gone that silly so far,
and if there are a few cases then likely they got reprimanded because
of the contents of what they were saying which was also out of line,
not just the frequency of posting.

I truly hope you dont quit posting, it should be your choice whether
you post and everyone elses choice whether they read it or not.

I wave a finger of woe at those who would start making judgements on
what is deemed quality enough for other humans to post. Dont start me
off on that one, or I'll apply the same logic to the question of 'what
comments are worth leaving on someones blog' and remember the time I
saw Josh Leo post a comment for someone that asked how come his site
wasnt linked to in their sidebar.
