Ok - not that I think knowing marketing data is bad. I think its something that an ubber-popular show like rocketboom would rightfully like to know (completely seperate as to if any advertisement/sponsorship is ever actually done ... such popular shows would certainly like to have that level of stats) ... I didnt mean to imply you were looking to 'sell out', it just felt like thats the level of detail you were going for in stats (for whatever reason). :-P > Setting aside any marketing data that other people may want, I am concerned > about all kinds of stats because a wbsite that you care about is a lot like > a car that you care about or your own physical body. I hear ya ... but I'd look elsewhere than a 'subscriber count estimation' for that. :-P > I'm not saying you haven't done a great job with what you have come up, I'm > just saying, because you offered the script publicly to all of us and > claimed that it worked, I just wanted to point out that I dont think it > works great under all conditions - you agreed. I don't really have anything to offer out as far as scripts go - was just saying 'yeah it can be done, I think I've managed to do it on my site'. (Should someone REALLY REALLY want it, I'd send it to them ... but it's still very test-phase; I haven't written any interface to the system or anything (I have to load up phpMyAdmin and work with the databases directly), the code isn't commented, it will only work on php page generated feeds, and it has at least one feature that needs redone. :-P I barely have time to work on it myself so no telling when/if I can get it into a nice package) -- http://www.DavidMeade.com ------------------------ Yahoo!
