the past several months some of us have focused on teaching
videoblogging with a project called Node101.
http://node101.org

The idea is that videoblogging is cool online and even better in person.
Ryanne and I have started the one here in Manhattan...and we've learned a lot.
that some formal classes are nice...but its even better to have
created a hang out place...
videobloggers old and new just coming to work/troubleshoot/watch together.

anyway, i want to encourage other people to start a Node.
you of course can do it on your own and call it what you want...but i
like the idea of an informal and decentralized network of
videoblogging "centers".
the way i see it...i spend my weekends woriing in my apartment on
videoblogging...why not do it in a public setting whwree other people
can come and join in?

ryanne wrote up this great how-to:
http://node101.org/community/index.php/Envisioning_Node_101#How_to_start
its really about finding a public space with wi-fi, setting some
specific hours, making a blog....and showing up.
we have several models that have been followed so far in NYC(in a
storefront), San Antonio(teamed with a non-profit) and Ojia(out of
Markus' home).

if interested, email me offlist and we can talk.
