Yes Ive got the PAL version. Its a great camera. The image quality of the more expensive 3CCD HDV camera is a bit better, but to be honest I was stunned with the quality of the video from this camera, its great.
The main downsides are that its a bottom-loading tape mechanism so painful tripod removal every time you need to change the tape. The other downsides are caused byt he HDV format itself - the greater computer resources needed, less choice of software that handls HDV, possibly longer processing times (dependng on what your final resolution is). Oh and the great high resolution can also be a bit silly in the sense that not all that many people have a high enough resolution monitor to see the cameras HDV output at its native size. Can use the camera in normal DV mode though I havent tried that yet, I suspect it will be good quality. Doh the webserver I use to host a few smple videos taken with it appears to have crashed again, argh.
