Just when I thought it was safe to go out and educate my community (of all ages) on vlogging, one of the sample videos I was displaying from http://www.blogtelevision.net/ had a broken link. So I went to go find it or another one, for samples for referral page web video hosts.
It looks like they updated their interface since I was last there some time ago. I happened to click on "Viral Videos" and porn clips came up in abundance. And this is without any age deterant block page like this one http://www.blogtelevision.net/p/Videos-Verify- Age___1,52.html that is presented when you click on their adult category. So I'm going to have to scratch blogtelevision off my referral list. Kind of reminds me of... A decade ago when I began serving as a Video and Multimedia Specialist at NASA, I was assigned to educate teachers, students, and school administrators on the use of webcams and teleconferencing tools (Remember CUSeeMe?). I usually had students and personnel from two school districts in two different computer labs at the NASA center. The workshop involved setting up the webcams, downloading the software, making the connection, capturing screenshots, etc. After the workshop, I would say, "Show your students and fellow teachers this technology and techniques, and connect and collaborate with other schools across the country". One day I put on a workshop and sent everyone off with their new skills. That night on HBO an episode of RealSex was featuring a story on couples having sex in front of their teleconferencing webcam, while another couple watches or is also "doing it" in front of their webcam. I freaked. I pictured those teachers, school administrators, and students also at home watching this same HBO program. I couldn't teach another workshop after that. But back to porn on vlogs and webvideo hosts: I have to say I feel concerned about the free distribution of adult and violent videos by individuals, versus the law-abiding, lawyer- retaining mainstream producers who have to keep on file documents regarding the actor's age, animal welfare, explosives permits, etc. So my question is; How do we know that the person(s) in the submitted videos are adult-consenting actors, or if they're possibly actual victims of a crime or abuse? -Cynthia http://SouthValleyWebTV.com --- In [email protected], "Enric" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > --- In [email protected], "Jay" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > > Just wanted to throw something out to the vlogger community. > > I just went to check mefeedia site.
