If you want something that's less shared / less susceptible to getting overloaded and won't change unless you change it -- then pay for hosting someplace (like at godaddy.com) and install wordpress (free) on your server space. It takes a lot more technical know-how and time, however, as well as costing money -- but it's still very do-able, and many many of us here have taught ourselves the technology bit by bit over these years.

Or, if money is the least of your problems, and the learning curve is too much -- hire someone to set-up your blog for you. I'm available! I've set-up a bunch of websites + blogs for clients.
